I know, what about the children who read this blog for inspiration everyday and who look to me as a hero, what about them? Well, sorry. If my empoyer gives me 5 weeks of vacation a year, I might as well use it. So, I did.<br /><br />And where did I go, you might ask? Well, I got a new passport last year and deicided that Paris, France was calling my name. I heard they have a little bike race there and, well, I had to go check it out.<br /><br />I'll write more about vacation later, but I do have some news that it pretty freaking cool. I did a race right before I left called the Blackwater Traverse. It was a long course duathlon (8 mile run-43mile bike-5 mile run) and worlds qualifier. I expected nothing more than a good training day, but I felt good after the first 8 mile run (55mins) and my bike was clamoring to go fast, so I did averaging 23 MPH. Afer gutting out the last 5 miler in 44 mins, you know what? <strong>I won</strong>. Yep, for the first time ever in a race I freaking won. Not the whole thing mind you, but my division. <strong>I won</strong>. Not oly did I win, I kicked ass so bad my knee was killing me.
